SamSam kinderopvang Marcantilaan is a spacious childcare location in Amsterdam West. Here, we offer professional childcare in a small-scale setting. By being small-scale, we can guarantee and provide attention and care for each child. We stimulate the child’s independence and self-confidence, based on respect for the uniqueness of each child. Nature, culture, creativity, and sustainability are central, and we primarily use natural play and development materials. Above all, it is a childcare location with daycare and after-school care groups where our policies, just like us, are always evolving and growing with us.

Groups Marcantilaan
Daycare (0 to 4 years)
Our baby groups are designed for children aged 10 weeks to 18 months. At this stage, children go through important developments and we offer them space to look out into the world in peace. But also to be able to crawl or take their first steps when they are ready. There is plenty of space for babies who are lying down to safely observe the moving children from a distance. For crawling and walking babies, there are climbing and scrambling materials and a challenging kitchen corner.
Babies have a natural need to explore the world through their senses. They discover the world around them by tasting, looking, listening, smelling and feeling. Therefore, the baby groups do not work with themes, but sensomotor activities are offered here. Everything the baby hears, sees, touches, smells or tastes provides a foundation for future learning.
In the toddler and preschool groups, there are various corners set up, such as a play kitchen, building corner, green corner, number/letter corner, art space, and a light and dark room. Distributed across the spaces, they occur only once, giving more depth to the corners. The children are challenged appropriate to their age and development and learn to play in small groups in a corner. Challenging corners have been created in which children can play independently.

After-school care (4 to 12 years old)
The after-school care at SamSam is a large workshop where all children are free to get to work and will never be bored! We encourage children to use all their senses (making music, cooking, building, hammering), we go out to explore all the parks in the area, and give the children the space to retreat and relax. We let them marvel, explore, and build and create new objects using old materials and real tools.
At SamSam, children are encouraged to color outside the lines because growing up also means exploring boundaries and going on discoveries.
For the growth and development of school-aged children, it’s important that they can relax in the afternoon after school. They can do this at SamSam.

The schools we work with and pick up from are: De Rijk Kramer, Nassaukade location | De Waterkant | De St Jan | De Meidoorn | De Admiraal de Ruyterschool.
Marcantilaan 498 | After-school care
The schools we work with and pick up from are: De Vrije School West | De Rijk Kramer, Nassaukade location. If there is no availability in the group at Marcantilaan 496, we also pick up children from the schools listed at Marcantilaan 496.
On Wednesdays and Fridays, we combine both groups. The after-school care locations have a close collaboration during school holidays and school weeks to offer even more age-appropriate activities.
