At Fideliolaan in Amstelveen, we offer childcare for children aged 0 to 4 years. Our homely groups provide children with the space and safety they need to develop and discover their talents. Our pedagogical vision prioritizes respect for each child’s unique talents and the way in which they develop.
For some fresh air, the children can go outside to our garden. We have a quiet, enclosed space where they can play outdoors. There is plenty of room to move around, with various opportunities for discovery and development. Additionally, we encourage the children to engage in cooperative play with others.

Groups
Vertical group (0 – 4 years)
In our vertical group, we provide care for children aged 0 to 4 years. The spacious, bright room is designed for both babies and toddlers.
For young babies, we provide plenty of space to calmly observe and explore the world. For crawling and walking babies, we have climbing and crawling materials, along with engaging play corners. Additionally, we offer sensomotor activities to stimulate the senses and promote the development of intelligence. Everything the baby hears, sees, touches, smells or tastes provides a foundation for future learning.
For toddlers, we have stimulating play corners that cater to the various interests and needs of the children. We use as many sustainable and open-ended materials as possible. These materials encourage creativity and imagination. With these materials, children can decide for themselves what it is, what they want to do with it, and what it can be used for. Natural materials such as wooden discs, pinecones, stones, and so on are particularly suitable for this purpose.
In the vertical group we pay a lot of attention to the development of independence and autonomy. For example, children learn to dress themselves, drink from an open ‘real’ porcelain cup, make their own choices of activities they want to do, or learn to solve small conflicts under the guidance of staff members.
The special thing about the vertical group is that children spend 4 years together in the group, together with the permanent staff. In the vertical groups, children learn extra with and from each other. The younger children learn from the older children and vice versa, the older children learn to help take care of the younger children and develop skills as patience and finding the right kind of words to approach another child.
In the vertical group, we accommodate a maximum of 16 children, with three staff members.
